- They placed the first panel up on the ceiling and pushed it against the edge. After the panel was in place, Ron asked them to pull it away from the ceiling slightly and then push it back up again. This last step would help to make sure that the adhesive was evenly distributed.

| |
- They used a pneumatic nail gun to place a couple nails right into the ceiling joist that they had marked earlier.
| |
- For the second panel, they needed to first place the tongue into the groove of the first panel and then push it up against the ceiling, pull it down and then push it up again just as they had with the first panel.
| |
- After they worked their way to the opposite wall, they were left with a gap that was narrower than their planks. They measured the gap, transferred the measurement to the final plank and then ripped it to size on the table saw.
| |
- Before they could put up the final plank, they had to make a slight modification to it. Ron made up a demo to show Barb and Steve why this was necessary.
| |
- To get a snug fit on the final piece, he needed to drop it straight in next to the last full board. Unfortunately one side of the groove would get in the way.
| |
- They needed to cut half of the groove off, so that the piece could just drop straight in.
| |
- Ron lowered the blade on the table saw and Steve pushed the plank through, taking off only the bottom lip of the groove.
| |
- With the edge gone, it was simple to slip the narrow board into the gap. Then they glued and nailed it into place. Once it was up, they moved on to the next ceiling section.

5. Speaker hole
- The boards went up easily until they reached the speaker hole, which they needed to cut around. Barb and Steve held the first panel, which slightly overlapped the hole. Steve reached up into the hole and traced the arc onto the backside of the plank.
| |
- Ron showed Steve how to use a jigsaw to carefully cut along the arc that he had just traced.
| |
- Steve applied the adhesive and Barb nailed the board into place.
| |
- Since the second panel would completely cover the hole, they first cut it into two pieces so that the end of the first piece would slightly overlap the hole.
| |
- Barb traced the arc of the circle on the end of the plank...
| |
- ...and then she took a turn on the jigsaw to cut it to shape.
| |
- They repeated the process on the other side of the hole. Finally, Barb and Steve traced and cut the third board exactly as they had done with the first.
