Trim the opening using a material called gear wall trim. Cut the trim to size, and snap on each of the four sections along the inside edge of the opening. Attach the panel to the wall and then continue with the next panel.

If the bottom row of panels needs to be cut to a narrower width, rip each panel to size using a table saw.

6. Corners
Before beginning the second wall, attach a long strip of the gear wall trim in the corner, with the opening facing the un-paneled wall. The trim will give the corners a more finished look.

Slide the first adjoining panel inside the wall trim and then attach it. Repeat the process for each inside corner. Also use the trim to conceal the cut ends around the doorways and on outside corners.

7. Cabinets and options
There are several optional pieces that are offered with the Garageworks system in addition to the easy-to-install hanging cabinets. These include a heavy-duty workbench, several base cabinets and hanging items ranging from baskets to bicycle racks, which all snap directly onto the gear wall.

The lip of the rail on the back of the cabinets hooks onto the slots in the gear wall. Simply engage the track and put the bottom in.

The cabinets slide along the tracks of the gear wall, so spacing them exactly where you want is a simple task.

There are many options available for storing a wide variety of objects conveniently.

Garage floors

Grease stains and cracks on a garage floor can be made to disappear in about 30 seconds with a vinyl floor-covering mat from Better Life Technology. The mat does not require any adhesive and is just rolled out into the room.

The mat is designed with grooves cut into it, which will carry water right out of the garage for easy cleaning.
