How to Preserve Wallboard Joint Compound

2-17 joint compound

If you've ever worked with wallboard joint compound, spackle or other similar products, you know how these materials tend to dry out between jobs leaving a lumpy mess that's practically useless. Ron shares a simple solution to prevent this annoying problem.

Use a putty knife to level the top of the material inside the container and then add a little bit of water.

Next, place a piece of plastic wrap on top. The plastic wrap will keep the joint compound from drying out, ensuring that it's fresh and ready for the next job.
