Learn how to assemble a kit and add other accessories to a backyard play set.

Space the next plank about 1/8-inch away from the first by inserting a carpenter's pencil temporarily between the boards as a gauge. Remove the pencil and secure the plank. Use this process on all the planks to complete the deck. The gaps will let water drain away and small debris fall to the ground.
