Solar Storage Shed

14. Shingles
Begin putting down shingles at the bottom edge where a double layer is installed. Each shingle overlaps the course below and is held in place with four roofing nails. The nails are placed so that the heads are concealed under the next row.

15. Windows
With the shingles securely in place, it is time to install the roof windows, which are what makes this a "solar" shed. First, run strips of double stick tape along the tops of the roof trusses. Set the window panels in place resting on top of the tape.

A metal trim strip, which has holes pre-drilled in it, serves to cover the gap between the windows and also holds the windows in place.

It's really amazing that such a good-looking structure can come in a box. Unlike the dilapidated and rusting shed that used to stand there, the new shed adds beauty and value to the property and is every bit as functional on the inside as it is attractive on the outside.
