10. Hanging the display case
The display case is hung using two strips of wood called mounting strips that each have a bevel cut on one edge. One strip is attached to the back of the display case with the bevel pointing down while the other is attached to the wall studs with the bevel pointing up. When the cabinet is hung, the top cleat nests inside the bottom forming a very strong attachment.
Apply glue to the back of the first mounting strip and press it in contact with the back of the case. Also attach the cleat with nails to ensure that everything is held firmly in place while the glue dries.
Place the other mounting strip on the wall, screwing it securely into the wall studs.
