How to Create Recessed Shelves in a Wall - Tools Needed

Learn how to maximize storage space by building recessed shelves in your walls; includes instructions with tips, materials, and tools lists.
Tools and supplies:
      Electronic stud finder
      Pencil
      Hand held wallboard saw
      Safety goggles
      Table saw
      Power miter box
      Adjustable C clamps
      Pneumatic nail gun
      Eight penny (8d) finish nails
      Power drill
      Countersink bit
      Shims
      Jig saw (for cutting trim)

Materials:
      3/4" birch, clear dry pine or poplar plywood in 4 x 8 sheets
     Wood glue (also called panel adhesive)
     ¼" plywood (shelf backing and trim)
     2" flat head screws
     Large sheets of paper
     Spray adhesive
     Cork material for bulletin board
     Paint
