Ron used a hand sander to show Susie how to smooth the rough-cut edges of the rail end.
Applying a little pressure to the sander, Susie went all the way around the end of the rail with the sander.
After smoothing out the end of the handrail with the power sander, their stair railing was complete. Ron recommended two brush coats of satin polyurethane to finish and protect their beautiful work.

RESULTS:
Ron was quite pleased with how the new stair railing looked, but it was also nice knowing that it added a measure of safety while blending in with the rustic look of their home.
