| Before setting the frame permanently into place, apply silicone sealant to the foundation. By cutting open the tube of sealant closer to the cartridge, you can get a good heavy bead. |
Ease the frame into position, press it firmly into the sealant, and then begin installing the screws. |
Place a second bead of sealant on the inside, where the frame meets the foundation. If you spray on a lubricating solution, you can then use your finger to tool the caulk and end up with a super smooth joint. |

| You should also apply sealant to the head of the frame, where it meets the house. |
Finally, secure the metal threshold to the foundation. |
Now you're ready to attach the doors. First, attach the hinges. |

| Attach the hinges to the inside of the frame. |
Polyethylene doors are already lightweight, but to make them even easier to open and close, you can install gas cylinders to the frame. |
Some bulkheads feature an opening that can be covered with a clear panel, a solid panel, or a screened ventilation hatch. |
