The most-used room in the house is the kitchen, and one of the most popular indoor activities is watching TV. Yet the kitchen TV is often small, not the best quality, and clutters up valuable counter space. Today's project fixes all of that at once!

Sean Cutrufo is this project's home theater expert. He's going to make sure this kitchen has the best TV setup possible, including a large-screened display but with all the peripherals out of the way.

Sean points out that a wide-screen, hi-definition TV would fit well beneath the cupboard. Additionally, the DVD player, VCR, and cable box can all fit in the cupboard above it.

| Once the placement of the TV and peripherals is determined, it's time to make the cable and electricity accessible. In this case, they will be running into the cabinet. First, the installer
traces the two junction box outlines. |
A three-quarter-inch spade bit is used to drill starter holes, two for each box. |
Finally, a reciprocating saw is used to cut holes for each junction box.

| Down in the basement, an electrical fish tape is fed up into a hole that has been drilled through the base plate at the bottom of the wall. |
The end of the metal tape is retrived by reaching into the cutout, and is then pulled out. |
All of the electrical wire and television cable needed for the setup is then taped onto the end of the fish tape that's still in the basement. The tape is twisted before breaking it. Remember to take all of the normal precautions when working with electrical wiring, including hiring a professional, if necessary! |

Once the wires are attached, everything is pulled up into the kitchen. The cables are separated, fed through the back of their respective boxes, and the boxes are set in place in the wall. |
As the screws are turned on the corners of the junction boxes, small arms flip out inside the wall cavity. Continued turning draws the arms into contact with the back of the wall, securing the junction boxes in place. |
The last steps for the electrical wires are to strip the insulation from them... |

| Attach them to the terminals on the receptacle... |
And, finally, fold the wires, push the outlet into the junction box, and secure the mounting screws. |
The coaxial cable, meanwhile, is stripped and the end crimped on, both using special tools. |
