| Once cover plates are installed over both junction boxes, it's time to move on to the TV itself. In this case, it's a
hi-def flat panel television set. In order to mount it under the cabinetry, the handle must first be removed. |
Next, the base is unscrewed and removed. |
The covers concealing the terminals are removed, and then the mounting bracket is attached. This will allow the TV to hang beneath the cabinet.

 |
| The first step in installing the bracket base on the bottom of the cupboard is marking its bolt locations in pencil. |
Holes are then bored through the cabinet bottom. |
The bracket is attached using bolts, rather than screws. Threaded inserts are dropped in from the top. Then the bolts are inserted through the base and screwed up from the bottom, where they engage the inserts. |

| In order to connect the television to the electrical and signal cables, a hole saw is used to bore an opening in the cabinet bottom. The hole must be wide enough to accomodate not just the wires, but the connectors on the ends as well. |
A smaller hole is drilled facing outward, in which a remote sensor is placed. This allows the peripherals to be controlled via remote, even when the cabinet doors are closed. |
This kitchen project is nearly complete. The connectors are attached to the peripheral components, the wires are fed through the hole in the bottom, and the components are then placed in the cabient. |

| The connectors are secured to the TV. |
The TV is attached to the mounting bracket base underneath the cabinetry. |
An infrared emitter is attached to the front of each component; these will relay signals to the other electronic components as if they were the remote control, even though the remote is on the other side of the cabinet door! |

| As a finishing touch, even the cables in the cupboard can be hidden inside a cable box, which has a removable panel for easy access. |
With the project complete, a quality TV that can be angled toward the work area of the kitchen for when you're cooking or doing dishes . . . |
. . . and toward the dining area so the family can catch up on the news or share a movie. Best of all, virtually no counter space is used up, so the kitchen can still be used for its intended purpose: preparing food. |
