This is excellent info. I am a single and new home owner in a very old house. I certaintly have my work cut out for me, but this has changed my project list. and supplied many tips that I can do today. I can't thank you enough. Donna : )

Your energy efficiency video was great. I have about 45 recessed lights in my ceiling similar to the ones in your segment. I was wondering how to seal them, or if special products were avaliable? I have replaced all the 75 watt bulbs with 5 watt LED bulbs.

My large 1890 farm house had; lap siding; felt paper and cedar siding which was very thin. I had it resided with vinyl and 1/2" foam board; removeing felt paper and cedar. I asked the contractor about wrapping the house--he said the foam board would make my house so warm I wouldn't need heat!! My house was always very easy to heat, last winter I could not keep the house warm with a wood and oil furnace. Had a blower door energy audit done. Every corner was dark blue all outside walls were pale blue indicating cold air. End of story had blown in insulation done in the spring--this morning it's 18 and my heat is set at 60 and plenty warm. Energy Audits well worth the money. Hats off to Ron and his news letter information.

Ron, I love your show. Its a toss up between you and "This Old House" as to what I enjoy the most. Somewhere on the internet I found a place where you can determine energy savings on changing from one type of window to another using window square footage. I've run across it twice before but now that I plan on buying windows, I can't find it! Any Help? Doug
