When you flipped the switch to turn it on, does that mean it is running? Or do you have to turn on the AC as well? It wasn't clear from the video whether this dehumidifier runs completely independently from the AC, or if it simply enhances the moisture removal that occurs when the AC is running.

I would like to find out how to install a dehumidifier when you do not have a C.AC, but individual unit for each room and just heating system w/o the ducts.
