Pretty good idea, what would I use for different types of baseboard or finishing trim?

I've done this, but periodically would drop a dowel what was too short for the tube. I solved this problem by cutting out a "window" in each tube about half way from the bottom/top. Now it is easy to fish out the short ones that I accidently put in the wrong tube. T

One or two cement cinder blocks laid or stacked on sides makes pretty quick work of organizing dowels and other narrow wood scraps if you don't want to make a big project of this...
