I'll bet that house did not have GFCI outlets where they plugged in the drill or tile cutting saw. It was back in the days Ron had brown hair. They got lucky. Electricity and water are dangerous.
It would have been a little more work, but instead of cutting 1 1/2" off the tile, I would have poured a little cement to extend the patio by 1 1/2". Wouldn't have to rent a tile cutter then either.
I love the ambience the tiles have added to my yard!
How will it handle the harsh Chicago winters?

Hi Ron, I just love your show!
My Uncle Benjamin got a 12 month old Mercedes M-Class SUV just by working online with a macbook... have a peek at this website HOW TO EARN
Wouldn't it be easier to seal the top surface of the tiles before setting them?
Am I the only one who cringed when Joan pushed the tile through the tile saw using her bare hands? I was just hoping she would not cut off a finger. Don't forget the left side of the tile was only 2 1/2 inches wide - that's not push to hold on to and keep your fingers out of the path of the saw.
My concrete patio has a huge crack running across the width of it, what would I have to do before I lay the tiles so they don't crack?
You could also stain the patio instead of tiling it, as pointed out in your next video. I think the staining would be more economical, but the tiling looks nicer.
Did you do it yet? How did it turn out?
Absolutely. Go for it!
Did you finish the project? How did it turn out?
Could this method be used on a covered patio concrete floor even thoughwe live in in a freeze zone?I loved this video, and have wanted to tile our covered area for 9 years.
Thanks for this. Making a tile patio has been on my to do list for awhile now.
Love this Idea, I am thinking this would good on my cement walkway that starts from the city's walk to and through my yard, would this hold up under that type of foot traffic?
I wish he would have touched on how to deal with leveling the tile on a slab that may be uneven due to cracking. Perhaps another video!
Love it! Nice work, Joan on the do-it-myself patio!
Great job on the main patio Joan. You did better than Ron! LOL
Bro, Joan doesn't live where it freezes.
Awesome instructional video ... Thanks so much!
these were hand made mexican tiles, there sizes very since they are hand made, even tiles that are made by machine are rarely exactly the sames size (unfortunately)
Thanks Ron. I like this too!
ron , do you have too use a sealer if your dealing with a granite type tile , it has a non poo-rice tile
YOU ARE MAKING MY DREAMS COME TRUE. YOU ARE ADDING KNOWLEDGE TO MY ZEAL TO DO AND FIX THINGS MYSELF. THIS SAVES A LOT OF MONEY. THANK YOU.
Wow that looks so easy to do! I love renovating patios with those easy to put together deck tiles. I wanted to just hire someone to clean the deck tiles but when I watched your videos for the step by step process it inspires me to get a renovation for my patio. TheDeckingOutlet.com
This is a good one .With aLittle variation can be used for any tile job.To find out if square 3-4-5 method. I still lay out my tile to see how it looks. Slow but srue. OOPS.
