When I remodeled my mother's 1920's house I wanted the metal ceiling look, without the expense. I went to the local big box store and found textured wallpaper with a pattern similar to ceiling tiles. I then painted it with a silver grey to finish the look. This was the first thing people saw when they entered the house. The stairway I installed was second. (It costs a lot more in materials and was much harder to install.) I have always liked the look of "Tin" ceilings and the faux treatment gave the look without the expence and it was applied right on the drywall. It also helped the sale of the house when she sold it.

This was an interior ceiling. That is, there was another heated room above. Typically insulation is used on exterior walls and in ceilings below unheated and un-insulated attics or crawl spaces.

This looks like a great solution to an ugly ceiling, however, the link to this company's web site is not working. I searched in google for this company, but it's not comming up. Am I the only one having this problem?

I know of a house about a mile awas that has the original metal ceiling in it. (unless it has been removed since I was in it last: ,years ago)-

I have a question why there is no insulation and won't there be condensation on the metal. You did not mention if the room is not square. If it is like tile would you not have to start at a square point/corner and do a lot of trimming? Can a person fir over sheet rock and install it? You need to mention the company's name and website.

I just Love that Metal cieling, I've been thinking about doing this in my home but can it be done over drywall or do I have to remove the drywall first? What other colors does it come in and what is the cost per suare foot.

Back in May I saw your show about Stamped Metal Ceilings - this is exactly what I want for my 1926 house, for exactly the reason you showed. Finally getting the finances for this project, but I have a few questions. First the name of the company that the 2X4' panels were made, and also when you are finishing the project you put up wood molding prior to putting up the metal cornices - why? Can't find anyone in my area who has ever put up this type of ceiling, so your show inspired me to try - hopefully my brother will help in this project - he can do everything else - so I've asked him to look at your video so come spring we can hopefully be successful in a new ceiling!
