Hi Jim,

Try to follow the pipe and locate the shut off valve. If you are not able find a valve then its highly recommended to have one installed as a safety feature.

I am considering putting in granite counter tops and would like to do the demolition myself. I don't see the on/off valve any where under the stove top. Where else could it be found?

Thank you for a clear and complete tutorial. This will be very helpful in my installation. Did you secure the new cooktop? I noticed that my old cooktop is not secured but my new one has 2 brackets to secure it which I will use.

Ron- Thank you for easy to follow video. Lowe's wants $135 to remove and replace my 30" gas stove top. Removing the drawers for light and room to work along with how to check for gas leaks has given me the confidence I need to try and do it myself.

Great tutorial! You are a very good teacher. However, you did not address what I'd hoped you might. My problem is that our 3 yr. old home's cooktop has never been level. It is an Electrolux PLGC30S9ECA. Not sure how to go about leveling and wondering if you might have any tips and/or pointers. Thanks very much, John
