Viewing Project in Floors > Wood
Outstanding video representation. I am in the process of patching my floor myself and also removed a wall. The problem I have is that not only are portions of the new planks too high but the existing floor has aged for many years. I managed to get a relatively seemless appearance as far as grain but am stumped on getting the colors to blend. My intention is to lightly stain the new planks and as yourself polyurethane with clear semi gloss. I will be attempting the finish tomorrow and would appreciate any and all suggestions that you might add. Thanks in advance for your time and support!
I've been repairing/improving my various old houses for 40 years, you have got it exactly right - I learned the hard way, wish your videos had been around then!
Can I use a paint thinner to dilute the shellac instead of using denatured alcohol?
