Outdoor Serving Bar--Attach a handle Outdoor Serving Bar--Lay down the shelf onto the wood supports Outdoor Serving Bar--Fill the nail holes with wood filler
To make the serving bar truly portable, install a handle on the inside of the front panel of the unit. The handle should be centered under the frame along the top edge of the inside of the bar. Place the shelf into the unit by setting it on top of the small strips that you have nailed to the inside of the serving bar. Fill any nail holes with wood filler.

Outdoor Serving Bar--Run an electric sander over the entire bar Outdoor Serving Bar--The untreated bar Outdoor Serving Bar--Apply wood protector with paint brush
Sand the wood filler to make it level. Give the entire unit a thorough sanding. It is now time to treat the unit with a finish. Be sure to select a product that will protect the unit from wet weather, the sun, mildew and discoloration. Apply the wood protector with a paintbrush, working it into the surface of the wood, especially on the rough-sawn plywood face. A gel stain and sealer will provide excellent coverage for the grooves and minimize drips.

Apply the wood protector to the top of the bar with long, straight strokes, brushing with the grain. After the wood has dried, you have a portable outdoor serving bar that can withstand the weather elements and inevitable beverage or food spills. Congratulations! Your outdoor serving bar will be a wonderful addition to any party setting and its portability will allow for years of enjoyment and use.
