How to Cut Many Boards to the Same Length

If you ever have two or three boards and you need to cut each one to exactly the same length, Ron offers this handy tip:
1-3 prepare wood to be cut

You could measure and mark each piece separately, but each time you do that, you introduce the possibility of a small error. Instead, Ron suggests you align one end of the boards by placing them on the top of a flat surface like a workbench.

Then take a piece of duct tape and wrap it around one end of the three boards and a second piece of tape around the other end. With the three boards together, measure the desired length one time and then draw a square line around the boards and cut all three boards at one time.
1-3 Add duct tape
1-3 Measure once, cut once
The trick is to measure once and cut once.
