There is really no perfect glue for every type of project, but there are all kinds of glues out there, and there is a perfect glue for each type of project.

There's wood glue, super glue, crazy glue, and aquarium glue, just to name a few. What glue you choose really depends on what you're gluing.

Take a look at your project. If you're using wood, you want to make sure you purchase wood glue. If you're using ceramic or porcelain, you'll need a glue thats made for that purpose. Just read the directions, and make sure to get the right glue for your project.

Once you've come home with the right glue, you should also make sure that your surfaces are cleaned and prepped before you try to glue it. Otherwise the glue won't stick.
