Two Methods for Making Curved Cuts in Ceramic Tile

You know, it's rare that you get through any tile job without having to cut at least one curved tile like the one for this corner right back here. Well, here are two ways to do it very easily. First, you'll need to draw the area that needs to be cut away and mark the part that you want to remove. The low tech method uses a pair of tile nippers like this, and you literally nip away the tile until you've reached the line. Well, not perfect, but good enough for under a sink lip like this. For a more polished cut, you might want to try the spiral cutting saw. What you simply do is take your marked tile, drop it in a template like this so that it won't move around and cut away. Now, not only will that tool cut some new curves, but it will even bore holes in tile.
