Adding Details and Interest to Plain Wood Trim

The term "it's all in the details" may be especially true when it comes to interior woodwork such as moldings, door casings and baseboards.  One way to add more interest to the trim in your home is to supplement  what's already there by attaching narrow strips of decorative molding on top and by adding other features such as plinth blocks (Not sure what these block are?  Check out the video.)   I think you'll find it much easier and much more inexpensive to make this upgrade than you may have thought.  I invite you to take a look.

How do you clear away snow?

Well, I'm definitely in the minority here.  Being a hands-on, do-it-yourselfer and all, I feel like I probably should be working the business end of a snow blower or shovel.  However, if it's any more than an inch or so, I have someone plow for me.  I do shovel the walkways and finish up where the plow can't reach.  This year, I tried out a new shovel that seems to make the job a good bit easier.  It can be used as a sort of plow abd the shape of the handle puts me in a better shoveling position and helping to avoid back strain.  Click here, if you're interested in taking a look.
