An Automatic Pellet Stove Heats Quickly, Saves Money and is Easy to Operate

Is a Pellet Stove Right for You?

Heating oil and natural gas prices are skyrocketing, and that means that homeowners are going to be facing higher winter heating bills than ever. Some are already investigating alternative heating sources, like this pellet stove from Harmon.

Now instead of burning split wood, these stoves burn wood pellets made of compressed wood, primarily sawdust and chips. When this hopper is filled with pellets, it has enough fuel to operate for about 24 hours.

The stove is started by setting the thermostat to the desired temperature and switching the power on.
The stove will ignite by itself and will automatically feed fuel pellets into the fire chamber. Within minutes, the stove is up and running at the right temperature.

A stove like this will cost about $600 to operate for the heating season, and it produces 50,000 BTUs, enough to heat a house of 2200 square feet.

If you're looking for ways to knock your fuel bill down, you might want to check out the pellet stove.
